Weekly Box Office: ‘Drishyam 3’ Roars, ‘Karuppu’ Soars, ‘Chand Mera Dil’ Holds Firm
Lakshya and Ananya Panday's “Chand Mera Dil” maintained a steady hold over the weekdays following its underwhelming opening last Friday. The romantic drama has collected ₹18.80 crore net in the first week, overcoming mixed-to-negative reviews to post a respectable opening-week total.
With no major release this week, “Chand Mera Dil” has an opportunity to sustain its momentum in the second week as well. The film is now targeting a respectable total at the box office before “Peddi,” “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai” and “Bandar” occupy the majority of screens next Friday.
Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi and Rakul Preet-starrer romantic comedy “Pati Patni Aur Woh Do” also displayed a strong staying power, adding ₹12.77 crore in its second week. The two-week collection now stands at ₹41.22 crore and is expected to finish its lifetime close to ₹50 crore net, which would be a respectable number for a medium-budget film like this. Its consistent hold over two weeks indicates that the film has found acceptance among a certain section of audiences.

Meanwhile, Marathi film “Deool Band 2” is continuing the remarkable success stories of Marathi cinema this year. With another week of free run ahead and no major Marathi competition on the horizon, “Deool Band 2” is well-positioned to further strengthen its box-office power.
