Salman Khan To Make Rare Solo Appearance in ‘Koffee With Karan’ Season 9 Premiere (EXCLUSIVE)
"Koffee with Karan" Season 9 is officially scheduled to begin streaming around October / November 2026 (Diwali season). While the internet is buzzing with unconfirmed guest lists and viral rumors, Variety India can exclusively confirm that Salman Khan will be the season’s very first guest, anchoring the couch solo.

After avoiding the coffee couch for the first three seasons of the show, he made two highly publicized, viral appearances in later seasons. In Season 4 (also the premiere episode) and then, in Season 5 Episode 6, (to celebrate the show’s 100th episode milestone). While he was joined by his father, writer Salim Khan, for part of the show, in his first appearance, brothers Sohail and Arbaaz joined him for the next one.
Says a source from the team, “Salman has confirmed his presence to Karan Johar for the premiere episode. While other details are being ironed out, they are in agreement that Khan should appear solo this year.”
The long-running celebrity chat show will stream on JioHotstar (the combined streaming platform following the Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema merger). Johar has promised a "new syntax" featuring shorter segments and format shifts to keep the content fresh in the new season. Reports also suggest that this year, the episodes will not be limited to superstars from the Hindi film industry but will also include guests extending to South Indian cinema, OTT talent, and digital creators.
