After “Saaho,” “Salaar” and “Kalki 2898 AD,” Prabhas returns to the action genre with “Fauzi,” the upcoming pan-India period action drama. In July, the makers shared an impressive glimpse of a blood-soaked Prabhas holding a gun in one hand.
DoP Sudeep Chatterjee, whose body of work includes projects like “Chak De! India,” “Guzaarish,” “Dor,” “Bajirao Mastani” and “Padmaavat,” makes his Telugu debut with “Fauzi.” The veteran cinematographer praises Prabhas and shares, “Everyone I've worked with is special in their own way, but with Prabhas, you have to work with him to realize why people love him so much. There is just so much truth in his eyes. Not an iota of dishonesty. He has very honest eyes, and that comes through the lens as a beautiful human being. That is what audiences connect with,” says Chatterjee.

When asked how the visual grammar of “Fauzi” differs from his work on “Padmaavat,” “Gangubai Kathiawadi” and “Chandu Champion,” he replies, “You'll have to see the film and decide for yourself! It is a very different film set in a completely different landscape, and I am working with a new director for the first time. I prefer to let the images speak rather than speak about them myself.”
The film also stars Imanvi alongside veteran actors Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Bhanu Chander and Jaya Prada in pivotal roles.
Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi (of “Sita Ramam” fame), the film is presented by T-Series and produced by Mythri Movie Makers. The film’s music is composed by Vishal Chandrasekhar, who has collaborated with the filmmaker for his previous projects. “Fauzi” is set to hit screens on December 3.
