Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Eetha’ Set For Dec. 4, To Clash With Prabhas’ ‘Fauzi’ and Akshay Kumar-Anees Bazmee Film
Shraddha Kapoor’s “Eetha” has locked a new theatrical release date, with the Laxman Utekar directorial now set to arrive in cinemas on December 4, 2026. The new date places the film in an increasingly crowded early December window, with Prabhas’ “Fauzi” arriving a day earlier on December 3, 2036 and Akshay Kumar’s untitled film with director Anees Bazmee also scheduled for December 4, 2026.
The new release date was announce, with Shraddha Kapoor returning in what has been described as a powerful, author-backed role. “Eetha” reunites Utekar with producer Dinesh Vijan following the success of their 2025 historical drama “Chhaava.” Utekar and Vijan are producing “Eetha” alongside Karishma Sharma.
The film also stars Randeep Hooda and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in pivotal roles. “Eetha” was previously positioned for an August 28, 2026 release but has now moved to the December 4 slot. The shift also means the film is no longer in the same release window as Yash’s “Toxic,” which is scheduled for August 26, 2026.

However, the new date brings a different kind of box office competition. Prabhas’ “Fauzi,” directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, is officially scheduled to release worldwide on December 3, 2026. The period action drama, backed by Mythri Movie Makers and presented by T-Series Films, stars Prabhas alongside Imanvi, Mithun Chakraborty and Jaya Prada, among others.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar’s currently untitled comedy with Anees Bazmee is also scheduled for December 4. The film reunites Kumar with Vidya Balan and is described as a big-screen family entertainer. Raashii Khanna is also part of the cast.
The result is a particularly competitive December 3–4 corridor, with three star-led Hindi and pan-India titles seeking theatrical attention within 48 hours of each other.
For “Eetha,” the December move gives Kapoor a major theatrical platform following the success of “Chhaava,” while putting Utekar and Vijan back in the middle of a high-stakes release calendar. The film’s clash profile will now depend not only on the strength of its own campaign but also on how the three titles divide audiences across languages, genres and markets.
