Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Suriya and Yash: South Stars Who Have Made Mumbai Their Second Home

For several years now, Mumbai has become a second base for many A-list South Indian stars. For the last few years, many A-list South stars like Ram Charan, Yash, Allu Arjun, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suriya have been headlining Pan India films, bringing them frequently to Mumbai for meetings, shoots and promotions. Rather than constantly checking into hotels, several stars have opted for homes in Mumbai, giving them a private base in the city. From sea-facing apartments to sprawling penthouses, these properties reflect the growing footprint of South Indian actors in Mumbai. Variety India takes a look at some of the homes owned or rented by South stars in and around Mumbai.

Ram Charan

Telugu star Ram Charan was among the first South Indian stars to buy an apartment in Mumbai. He reportedly bought a luxury penthouse in Bandra in 2012, around the time he was shooting for the Hindi film “Zanjeer” with Priyanka Chopra. The sea-facing luxury penthouse in Bandra features contemporary interiors and smart-home automation, including biometric security.

Allu Arjun

The Telugu actor, who is currently shooting his action flick, “Raaka” in Mumbai, has reportedly rented a luxury penthouse in Juhu for allegedly Rs 16 lakhs a month on a three-year lease. The five-bedroom plush apartment spans around 6,000 square feet and includes a private plunge pool and parking space for four vehicles. The apartment was rented in April this year.

Prithviraj Sukumaran

This Malayalam star owns a 3,000 sq ft duplex at Narain Terraces in Bandra. Purchased through Prithviraj Productions in 2024, it comes with four parking spaces.

Suriya and Jyothika

In 2024, Tamil actors Suriya and Jyothika purchased a luxury apartment spread across around 9,000 square feet. The property is part of an exclusive gated community in Bandra. Apart from their careers, the couple also moved to Mumbai from Chennai for their children’s (Diya and Dev’s) education.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu

Samantha Ruth Prabhu bought a three-bedroom apartment in Mumbai in 2023. The actor decided to set up a base in the city as she was shooting extensively in Mumbai for her OTT shows and movie projects.

Atlee

Tamil film director Atlee recently bought a sea-facing apartment in Bandra. The property features private elevator access and expansive balconies.

Dhanush

The Tamil actor has reportedly bought a home in Atlantis Building in Lokhandwala Complex.

Yash

Instead of investing in property in Mumbai, Kannada star Yash bought a beachfront property near Kihim Beach in Alibaug in May 2026. Spread across 5,289 sq m, the property reportedly offers private beach access and was purchased as a gift for his wife, Radhika Pandit.
