‘The Odyssey’ Box Office: Christopher Nolan’s Epic Witnesses Good Spike on Day 2
Christopher Nolan-directed film adaptation of Homer’s epic poem “The Odyssey” was released globally on July 17. With much hype around its theatrical run, the movie is already showcasing an upward climb in terms of its day 2 figures. Observing a 26.4% growth from its opening day, it managed to earn ₹22.00 crore across 8,791 shows.
With this, the Matt Damon-led project has already collected a total of ₹39.40 crore so far in India. This follows the opening day collection of ₹17.40 crore, which placed it above “Oppenheimer”’s ₹14.50 crore. Moreover, the occupancy data has also shown a positive outlook for the film, going from 48.7% on its first Friday to 54.4% on Saturday.

Nothing really stands in the way of the Universal Pictures project as it traverses a lone journey in the cinema halls this week, racing towards the ₹100 crore number. In the upcoming days, Thalapathy Vijay’s “Jana Nayagan” poses a possible challenge for the production, followed by Marvel Cinematic Universe’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” which is all set to take to the big screens in India on July 30, one day ahead of its international premiere.
