"Hunkkaar-The Roar" is one of the upcoming web series on JioHotstar. The teaser of the show will be out tomorrow. It stars Fatima Sana Shaikh, Aneet Padda, Arjun Mathur and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub. The show is a courtroom drama directed by Nitya Mehra. In the past, Mehra and Padda collaborated together for the coming-of-age school drama, "Big Girls Don't Cry" (2024) that came on Prime Video.
Padda, who made her debut in Bollywood with "Saiyaara" is one of the most successful debutantes in the Hindi film industry. In the movie, she played Vaani Batra, a young woman dealing with Alzheimer's disease.

Variety India learns that Padda had finished filming for this a long time ago. Finally, the series is coming on the streaming platform. The ensemble cast also has names like Zoya Hussain, Rajesh Kumar, Raghubir Yadav and Ram Kapoor. Shaikh was last seen in "Modern Love Mumbai" (2022). Shaikh also has "Teen Kauwe" lined up for release in 2026.
In movies, Padda has "Shakti Shalini" and "Satranga" lined up. In "Shakti Shalini," she plays an ordinary woman who suddenly acquires a supernatural force. Aditya Sarpotdar of "Munjya" and "Thamma" fame is the director of the same.
Padda finished filming for this series before "Saiyaara." In the series, she is playing the role of a victim, who gets help from Fatima Sana Shaikh's character in her fight against the system.
The genre is quite popular in India with notable films like "Jai Bhim" (2021) and "Sirf Ek Bandaa Kafi Hai" (2023) earning acclaim from critics and fans. Web series like "Guilty Minds" (2022), "Maamla Legal Hai" and "Criminal Justice" are also very popular in the country.
