Namit Malhotra Confirms Work On ‘Brahmastra 2’ After ‘Ramayana’ at CinemaCon 2026
“Ramayana” producer Namit Malhotra and Yash are at CinemaCon 2026 to promote their magnum opus. The producer spoke on several topics, and one of them was “Brahmastra 2.” Ayan Mukerji’s second part of the Astraverse film is about the love story of Dev and Amrita. He said that once he finishes work on “Ramayana,” he will start “Brahmastra 2,” a welcome piece of news for Ranbir fans who were eagerly awaiting an update on this. Malhotra said he will put his energy into the Astraverse next.
“Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva,” released in 2022 and made ₹431 crores at the box office. However, many claimed that it was not as big a hit as it should have been, given its budget. The fantasy movie took close to four years to get released after its conception. It was touted as Ayan Mukerji’s dream project. We will see Shiva battle Dev in an epic clash.

In October 2025, Ayan Mukerji had shared some pictures from a getaway in the mountains. Fans saw a script with him and guessed that he might be working on “Brahmastra 2.” While he did not explicitly mention the movie, the hashtags of Pt. 2 and Om were enough to spark speculations about it having to do with the Ranbir Kapoor film.
When audiences saw a glimpse of “Brahmastra 2” in the climax of the first film, they wondered if Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone had been cast as Dev and Amrita. The first movie, made on a budget of close to ₹400 crore, was produced by Dharma Productions, Namit Malhotra and Ayan Mukerji.
