‘Mirzapur – The Movie’: Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi Starrer Lands ‘A’ Rating
After three successful seasons, the “Mirzapur” gang will return with a new film this coming week. Ahead of its highly anticipated big-screen release, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has shared its verdict on the film’s certification. “Mirzapur: The Movie” has been awarded an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate by the film governing body.
As per the certification, only adults above 18 years of age will be allowed into theaters to watch the film. The strong language, violence and explicit content that the viewers of the past three seasons have become accustomed to appear to be carried into the film. Moreover, the theatrical runtime of “Mirzapur - The Movie” has been revealed to be 197.19 minutes, making it to be around 3 hours and 17 minutes long.

The Gurmmeet Singh directorial has been produced under the banners of Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios, the former of which applied for the certification which has now been granted by the regional office of the CBFC in Mumbai.
Based on the happenings between the seasons 1 and 2 of the show, it is a prequel to the story rather than being a continuation of the end of season 3. It can be viewed as a standalone project, not to be confused with season 4 of “Mirzapur”. The ensemble cast led by Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Divyenndu, includes Jitendra Kumar, Ravi Kishan, Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Dugal, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Harshita Gaur, among others.

While the exact details of the story remain unknown at the moment, the plot synopsis on the CBFC website is: “The battle for Mirzapur's throne escalates as old enemies resurface and new threats emerge. Blood debts must be paid while power-hungry contenders fight to control the city's violent underworld.”
“Mirzapur: The Movie” is all set to release in theaters on September 4.
