Adivi Sesh on His Initiative to Protect Stray Dogs in the Rains: ‘All Living Creatures Deserve a Life Full of Love’ (EXCLUSIVE)
Telugu actor Adivi Sesh, a self-confessed animal lover, has been vocal about advocating for canine welfare. He frequently uses social media to champion stray dog protection and adoption, while also sharing glimpses of his bond with his pets. The actor recently launched an on-ground initiative in partnership with animal welfare NGOs across major Indian cities, including Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru and Pune, to provide shelter, food and medical assistance to street dogs during heavy rains.
About the initiative, he says, “This comes from a shared empathy we need to have toward all living things, be it a child, an older man, a dog, or a tree. You must do what you can, wherever you can, whenever you can, just because you care.” Previously, he has also partnered with PETA India on animal rights campaigns and advocacy against laboratory animal cruelty.

His compassion for animals extends to his own home, where he has five dogs and four cats. Adivi Sesh says his awareness of animals in distress grew while researching Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s love for animals for the 2022 biographical action-drama film “Major.” The actor says, “I feel it (compassion towards animals) was stoked when I was researching Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s love for animals for ‘Major.’ Then suddenly, I started noticing animals in need everywhere - a dog limping, a cat with scarred fur, a bird struggling to fly. It was like my eyes suddenly opened to all of it.”
Adivi Sesh believes that people should recognize the intelligence and emotional value of the animals around them. “They have an extraordinary kind of intelligence that we simply do not possess. We should never assume that we are superior. All living creatures deserve a life full of love.”
