Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte open up about filming the action sequences for their series "Akka." While the show features several high-octane moments, the actors reveal that some of their most demanding sequences did not make it to the final cut. They also speak about the training that went into preparing for the action scenes.

Speaking about the action in the series, Keerthy says, “We have action sequences towards the end. But it is not the kind of action where you beat the shit out of a guy. It is something else. We just chop their heads off.”

Radhika also reveals that two of her most demanding action scenes were removed from the series. Keerthy adds that they filmed a large action sequence after days of preparation and training, but it did not make it to the final version. “We had a very big action piece as well, which was not there at all. We spent days training for that. That's gone,” she says.

When it comes to her approach to action scenes, Keerthy explains that the focus is on protecting a legacy rather than simply fighting opponents. She wants her movements to reflect the experience of someone who has been trained to defend her territory for years. The “Dorothy” star quips, “Here, the action is more about protecting a certain legacy when someone is coming to invade. It should look like I have done this for years. It's the kind of action where you try to protect your realm. I went through a lot of training to understand the style. I wanted to make it look like I am really experienced at this.”

Suresh further clarifies that the final action sequence involves several performers and is not limited to her and Radhika. However, the two actors do share a smaller action sequence in the series. Of their scenes together, Radhika quips, “Yes, we have a small action sequence together. It's part of a long sequence, which I thought was done so well. It was choreographed really well. It is not about brutal killing, it's about how it has been choreographed.”
