Inside Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’: Shiamak Davar’s Choreography, Songs, Part 2 Status and The World-Building (EXCLUSIVE)

As producer Namit Malhotra’s two-part adaptation of Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, continues to build global anticipation, insider details have surfaced offering a clear look at the film's musical structure, franchise scope, and production roadmap.

According to a source close to the project, the makers’ vision deliberately moves away from traditional Indian cinematic conventions to maintain seamless narrative pacing. Crucially, the film's score will be integrated into the background music (BGM) rather than functioning as traditional lip-sync pauses.

"Most of what you are going to be hearing in the form of songs are all part of the BGM," the insider revealed. "Because we don't live in an era where you stop the film and play a four-minute song. That time has gone now."

Among these tracks is the devotional piece “Jai Jai Ram,” framed as an Aarti for Shri Ram. The visual mounting for this anthem — specifically the expansive exterior temple sequences — has been choreographed by choreographer Shiamak Davar.

Part 2 status and Sunny’s schedule

Addressing speculation around the continuation of the saga, the insider confirmed that significant portions of “Ramayana Part 2” have already been filmed. However, the production unit has opted for a phased approach, choosing to wrap the remainder of the second chapter after Part 1 makes its debut in theaters.

A key factor in the upcoming schedule is Sunny Deol, who portrays Lord Hanuman. Because Hanuman plays a pivotal role in the narrative arc, Deol’s filming timeline requires an extensive, dedicated schedule that will stretch into the post-release shoot of the second installment.

Of rumors and surprises

The insider also put to rest persistent industry rumors regarding Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan’s potential involvement, specifically debunking reports that he was slated to lend his voice to the character of Jatayu. "There was no plan to use Mr. Bachchan's voice for Jatayu," the source clarified directly.

As for remaining cast additions and visual reveals, the production team is intentionally keeping tight security around major plot elements and high-profile cameos. "I think there are many surprises in store; we would like to hold a few close to our chests," the source said. "You will see them as and when the reveal happens."
