The magic is calling, and it looks like Harry Potter is ready to answer. HBO has unveiled a new poster for its upcoming “Harry Potter” series, offering another glimpse of the Boy Who Lived ahead of his return to screens this Christmas.
The poster puts Harry front and centre. A close-up of his face highlights his signature round glasses, messy dark hair and lightning-shaped scar. But it is the reflection in his glasses that really catches the eye, with Hogwarts hinting at the magical world waiting for him. A tiny green glint adds a touch of enchantment to the image, while the words “The Boy Who Lived” leave little doubt about whose story this is.

It is a simple but evocative image that taps into the nostalgia surrounding one of the most recognisable characters in pop culture. After all, a pair of round glasses and a lightning-shaped scar are enough to send Potterheads straight back to Hogwarts. The new poster also builds anticipation for a fresh interpretation of a story that has already found a devoted audience through J.K. Rowling's bestselling books and the blockbuster film franchise.
Titled “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”, the first season will revisit the beginning of Harry's journey. The story follows the young wizard as he discovers, on his 11th birthday, that he belongs to a world of witchcraft and wizardry. His admission to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry opens the door to friendship, adventure and a mystery connected to his past. The eight-episode season will adapt the first book in the series.
The series introduces a new cast, with Dominic McLaughlin stepping into the role of Harry, Arabella Stanton playing Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout portraying Ron Weasley. John Lithgow will play Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer is Professor Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu takes on Severus Snape and Nick Frost plays Rubeus Hagrid.
The series is scheduled to premiere on December 25, 2026, on HBO, with streaming on HBO Max where available. For fans eager to revisit the wizarding world, Christmas cannot come soon enough.
