HBO’s ‘Harry Potter’ Finds Its Arthur Weasley, Moaning Myrtle and Colin Creevey in Rafe Spall, Molly Hewitt-Richards and Jasper Ambrose

Ahead of the anticipated Christmas premiere of the series adaptation of J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books, the platform has unveiled the casting for three of its big characters. In a post shared on the production’s Instagram, Rafe Spall, Molly Hewitt-Richards and Jasper Ambrose were revealed as the cast members for the characters of Arthur Weasley, Moaning Myrtle and Colin Creevey.

All three characters first appear in the sophomore book of the series, “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” which will be adapted into the second season of the HBO series. They were also seen in the second film in the theatrical adaptations, with Mark Williams, Shirley Henderson and Hugh Mitchell acting in the roles, respectively.

Interestingly, it won’t be the first time that the Spall family will have one of its own heading into the world of Harry Potter. Rafe’s father, actor Timothy Spall, was previously seen in the role of Peter Pettigrew (Wormtail) in the films.

The three characters will serve as crucial elements of the fantasy story’s second season, when Harry is introduced to the chaotic world of the Weasley family after being rescued from the Dursleys by Ron, Fred, and George with the help of Arthur’s flying car. He then comes across Creevey, who is obsessed with taking photos of him, while the trio meets Moaning Myrtle in the girls' bathroom during Nearly Headless Nick's Deathday Party.

Kit Harington as Gilderoy Lockhart, Bonnie Hill as Ginny Weasley, Lenny Rush as Dobby, and Billy Barratt as Tom Riddle were cast for the second season. Originally, Nicholas Hoult was set to play the DADS professor in the series but stepped away due to scheduling conflicts. Harington is already familiar with Lockhart, having previously voiced him in the audiobook adaptation.
