Huma Qureshi and the “Maharani” team have wrapped filming the fifth season, and the makers are now preparing to unveil the first teaser of the political drama. Variety India has learned that the teaser is expected to drop on Sunday (November 1, 2027), while the team is tentatively planning a January 2027 release for the new season.
The latest chapter was shot across Delhi, Bhopal and Ladakh, taking the production to multiple locations as Qureshi returns as Rani Bharti. Details about the new season’s plot remain under wraps.
Variety India previously broke the news that “Maharani” Season 5 is going on floors, with Qureshi returning to lead the political drama. The series follows Rani Bharti, whose journey from a homemaker unexpectedly pushed into the world of politics has formed the foundation of the show across its previous seasons.
