‘Maharani’ Season 5 Set To Begin Filming In August with Huma Qureshi Returning as Rani Bharti, Makers Eye Early 2027 Release (EXCLUSIVE)
Huma Qureshi returns to streaming with the fifth season of acclaimed original series, “Maharani.” Production begins August 6 with Qureshi reprising her role as Rani Bharti in the political drama. The series’ core creative team is also returning alongside the actress, Variety India has learnt.
The actor is set to begin filming this week before briefly stepping away from production to promote her upcoming feature, "Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups," directed by Geetu Mohandas and starring Yash in the lead. Following the film's promotional campaign, the actor will return to the "Maharani" set to complete the remainder of the shoot.
No further cast additions have been finalized for the new season of “Maharani” at this point. Story details remain under wraps, even as the makers tentatively target a January 2027 release. The timeline, however, remains subject to production and post-production schedules.
