Robert Pattinson has offered another glimpse into what audiences can expect from “The Batman: Part II”, hinting that Matt Reeves’ sequel will explore the psychology of Bruce Wayne and his masked alter ego in a way that has not been seen on screen before. The actor, who will reprise his role as the Dark Knight, has also praised the film’s screenplay, describing the world Reeves has created as entirely different from that of the first instalment.

The remarks about the character’s psychology were circulated by Culture Cravein a post. In the same post, Pattinson is heard discussing the new screenplay and Reeves’ approach to the sequel. “The new script is, it’s just amazing what [Matt Reeves] has done with it. It’s just another completely different world... It feels enormous but really unusual and unusual in a different way to the first one,” he said.

Pattinson’s comments follow his recent interview with Radio Times, in which he spoke about returning to the character after exploring a range of roles in projects such as “Mickey 17” and “Die My Love”. Reflecting on Reeves’ screenplay, he said, “Matt just wrote this amazing script. I think the first one was... it’s difficult to reinvent Batman. And then to go in another totally different direction.”

The actor also spoke about the visual distinction between the two films, noting that even the footage he had seen during playback looked different from the first instalment. “Even when I’m just looking at the playback on certain things, it looks different from the first one,” he said, adding that he found the new material “amazing”. Robert Pattinson further described the screenplay as a “radical change” and a “really radical retelling”, while expressing confidence that audiences would be excited by Reeves’ approach.

Matt Reeves is returning to direct the sequel, which follows the events of 2022’s “The Batman”. The film introduced Pattinson as a younger, emotionally isolated Bruce Wayne, who was still finding his footing as Gotham City’s vigilante. The sequel is expected to continue exploring the city’s corruption and divisions, although its central plot remains under wraps.

The cast includes returning actors Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon and Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb, also known as the Penguin. New additions include Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson, who are set to play Harvey Dent and Gilda Dent, respectively.

“The Batman: Part II” is scheduled to arrive in theatres on February 18, 2028. With Pattinson describing the screenplay as a radical departure from its predecessor, the sequel appears set to take Reeves’ interpretation of the character in a fresh direction, while keeping its psychological exploration of Bruce Wayne at the centre.
