Indian audiences will get to watch “Avengers: Doomsday” a day before its scheduled US release, with Marvel Studios’ next superhero epic set to arrive in Indian cinemas on December 17, 2026. The announcement comes with a special Diwali message from Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans, who play Doctor Doom and Steve Rogers, respectively, in the film.
In a video message addressed to Indian fans, the actors extend their festive wishes while teasing the film’s darker turn. “Namaste India! What we love about Diwali is it marks the closing of one chapter and beginning of another…that’s something we know a lot about, except instead of moving from dark to light, I think it might be going in the other direction…Happy Diwali and we will see you in Avengers: Doomsday,” they said, with Evans adding, “You bet!”
The film is scheduled to release in India on December 17 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, a day ahead of its December 18 US release. The early Indian opening puts the film among the major Hollywood releases closing out the year, with the prospect of audiences here getting the first chance to watch the film before its US debut.
