Vidya Balan and Saif Ali Khan Reunite After 19 Years for Ritesh Batra’s Film (EXCLUSIVE)

Saif Ali Khan is all set to reunite with his “Parineeta” co-star, Vidya Balan, in Ritesh Batra’s unnamed film being shot in Mumbai right now. The reunion comes 19 years after their last collaboration, “Eklavya: The Royal Guard” (2007), and yet, sources on set say that it feels like their last outing together was just yesterday.

It is also reliably learned that Khan will have another leading lady: Mélanie Laurent, an acclaimed French actress, filmmaker, and singer who has established a highly successful career in both French cinema and global Hollywood productions.

She caught the attention of actor Gérard Depardieu at age 16, who cast her for her debut in “The Bridge” (1999). She is widely recognized globally for her powerhouse performance as Shosanna Dreyfus in Quentin Tarantino’s masterpiece “Inglourious Basterds” (2009).

Ritesh Batra, who has worked with Robert Redford, Jim Broadbent and Irrfan Khan, is now directing Saif in his most challenging role to date. According to informed sources, the project is a love story positioned within a family frame. Batra is best known for “The Lunchbox” (2013), which went on to become an international success.
