Assam Floods: Salman Khan Extends Support for Relief Efforts; Alia Bhatt and Bhumi Pednekkar Urge Fans to Help
The Assam floods have affected over 622 villages in the State, claiming several lives. As the crisis continues, several Bollywood celebrities, including Alia Bhatt and Salman Khan, have come forward to support relief initiatives and spread awareness.
The actors are encouraging people to contribute to relief funds and help provide essential aid to families affected by the floods. As per recent developments, Salman Khan is a part of a multi-phase relief campaign, which has been launched through his foundation, Being Human. The foundation is working with local fan clubs of the actor to show support to the people affected due to the floods. The actor and his team will also give away food packets with ready-to-eat snacks, drinking water, essentials like sanitary napkins and mosquito coils.

Apart from Khan, Alia Bhatt has also extended her support towards the flood victims. She shared a story on social media, stating, “Right now, floods are affecting so many parts of our country, with Assam being among the hardest hit, facing an incredibly challenging time. More than 60 lives have been lost. Lakhs of people have been displaced. Entire families have lost their homes, their land, their livestock... and for some, even the people they love. It happens every year, and it still catches us off guard. Assam needs immediate relief right now, and it'll need support for the long road to recovery. If you've been wondering how you can help, I'll be sharing a few ways we can support relief efforts over the next few days through organisations working on the ground."

In fact, Bhumi Pednekkar has also called for nationwide support. She has asked her fans and well-wishers to step up and help the people in need. She has urged people to donate essentials, including sanitation items and food. Other than that, singer Papon took to social media to urge people to come forward and support the flood victims. In a video, he said, “Firstly, thank you to everyone who contributed and helped raise more funds for Assam. I just wanted to bring to notice what's happening in Assam right now. The devastation caused by the floods this year is beyond imagination. It rains a lot here, and there are floods, but you can't imagine the situation this time. Villages are flooded, people are still homeless, hundreds of people are missing, and people have lost their lives... so many animals have died. Thank you to everyone who called my team, day and night, and helped us in any way. I pray to God that the situation gets better and returns to normal soon. Whatever I can do in my capacity to help, I will.”
Adah Sharma shared her support for the flood victims and urged her fans to donate essentials through trusted relief organizations.
