R Madhavan to Lead Vishal Furia’s Next Horror Film (EXCLUSIVE)

Following horror films such as “Chhorii” and “Maa,” filmmaker Vishal Furia is returning to the genre with another project. The director is currently developing an untitled horror film, and R Madhavan is set to headline it. The collaboration marks another addition to Furia’s growing body of work in the genre.

About working with Madhavan, Furia says, “He was always my first and only choice. I’m stoked that he has come on board and has already started getting into the world of the film. He is the true OG horror star of the cult classic Indian horror film ‘13B,’ one of my favorite films of all time. His conviction, experience and understanding of serious horror are very rare, and I couldn’t think of anyone better for this film.”

On what audiences can expect, Furia elaborates, “We want to create something audiences have never seen before in Indian horror - the kind of fear they will feel in their bones.”

This isn’t Madhavan’s first brush with horror. The actor has starred in “13B” and “Shaitaan,” two acclaimed films in the genre. He also made a surprise cameo in Furia’s “Maa,” starring Kajol, reprising his character Vanraj from “Shaitaan.” Madhavan was last seen in “Dhurandhar: The Revenge,” which was released in theatres on March 19, 2026.

His new horror film is expected to go on floors in early 2027. The project is being produced by Rohit Ranjan under his banner, Frostlit Production Limited.
