The best thing to happen to Tom Holland’s acting career is his casting as Spider-Man. The English star, who returned to the fan-favorite role with “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” has managed to make it his most profitable play, bumping up the stakes for him professionally. Moreover, his debut project with Christopher Nolan for “The Odyssey” added to his treasury. Now, it has pushed him further up in the acting realm, making him the highest-grossing star in Hollywood as of September 13.

Holland has overtaken Zoe Saldaña, who managed to earn the crown in January earlier this year with her contribution to “Avatar: Fire and Ash”. The record was previously held by Scarlett Johansson, followed by Samuel L. Jackson. Saldaña stands at over $15.4 billion total, having starred in four movies that have each grossed more than $2 billion globally. The success of Spider-Man has made the 30-year-old the youngest on top of the list. His earnings currently stand at $15.5 billion, with “Brand New Day” adding over $2.4 billion worldwide to the total, followed by the Nolan epic with its $1.4 billion worldwide at the box office.

With both his films released in 2026 still running in theaters, Holland is well on his way to holding on to the throne for a while before either Saldaña or Johansson can take over. The actor has managed to achieve the number with far fewer films as compared to his peers. He has a few more projects under his belt, including an untitled Fred Astaire biopic directed by Paul King. He will also don the producer hat alongside being the actor in an adaptation of John Grisham's bestselling book “The Partner”. He will also be seen in “American Speed” alongside Austin Butler, where they’ll play racecar-driving brothers. More on his MCU appearances remains under wraps as of now.
