Tom Holland’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is releasing in theatres on July 30 in India and July 31 globally. The film has already opened up intense conversations on social media, amongst movie nerds and Spider-Man enthusiasts. As fans are eagerly waiting to witness the movie on the big screen, Holland recently shared about disliking one particular cut of the film early on, that he and the others involved with the film believed “didn’t work.”

During an interview with Quotable, Holland shared that they have had to see several different cuts of the film, before landing on the current one. “One of the cuts was, they took all of the notes from all of the random people that saw the film, and they changed the movie. And then, we watched it and we hated it,” he explained.

But why did the cut not work for them? Holland revealed that it wasn’t what the creatives were looking for. However, as every experience has some learning attached, they also seemingly learned a lot about editing a movie in the right manner from the cut. “It totally didn’t work. And it’s what the people were asking for, but it wasn’t quite what we wanted as the creatives. But they learned lessons from that experience. So, a movie can change in a thousand different ways in the edit room,” he shared.

Tom Holland is coming back as the titular web-slinger in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, followed by Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds. The movie also stars Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Florence Pugh and more in leading roles.
