‘Ramayana’ Trailer to Release on July 30, Confirms Producer Namit Malhotra
After weeks of anticipation, Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Ramayana' finally has an official trailer release date. Producer Namit Malhotra announced that the much-awaited trailer of the first part of the epic will premiere worldwide on Thursday, July 30, at 4:15 AM.
The makers have chosen to unveil the trailer during Brahma Muhurat, the sacred period before sunrise that is considered highly auspicious in Hindu tradition. The timing aligns with the film's spiritual and mythological roots, making the launch a symbolic moment for the ambitious adaptation.

The trailer was previously showcased exclusively to attendees at San Diego Comic-Con, where it received an enthusiastic response. During a panel at the event, producer Namit Malhotra had previously mentioned, "We announced right before the panel that Sony Pictures Entertainment is going to be distributing Ramayana globally. It also means the trailers are hot on the heels. We showed the trailer at the panel and we are going to be launching that very, very soon. Stay tuned, it could be any day."

The panel also featured Ranbir Kapoor and director Nitesh Tiwari. During another discussion, Ranbir opened up about stepping into the role of Lord Rama in the epic and addressed the conversations surrounding his casting. He said, “They all have their own interpretation of Lord Ram. There is no fixed face to it. Many people will probably feel like I am the wrong casting. Some people will say I am the right casting. But the honest truth is the right casting for Rama would be any actor who has the right intentions and who has belief and faith in the journey of Lord Rama.”
Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman, "Ramayana" is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra. The film is planned as a two-part cinematic saga, with "Ramayana: Part 1" slated for release during Diwali 2026.
