Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Ramayana’ Trailer To Be Attached To ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ in Indian Theaters
Moviegoers heading to cinemas for "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" this week will get an early look at one of Indian cinema's most anticipated releases. The trailer for Nitesh Tiwari's "Ramayana" will screen ahead of Sony Pictures' superhero blockbuster in theaters across India. A trailer for Marvel Studios' "Avengers: Doomsday" will also be attached to the screenings.
The move places "Ramayana" in front of what is expected to be one of the biggest theatrical audiences of the year, giving the film's latest promotional asset a high-profile launch on the big screen. It was recently announced that Sony Pictures have come on board to distribute the Ranbir Kapoor-Yash led epic in the international market.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh believes the strategy could significantly boost awareness for the film, particularly given the anticipation surrounding its next trailer.

"It's a tremendous deal because, of course, it is very important. But the bigger thing is that Sony Pictures is distributing the film internationally. That changes everything," Adarsh told Variety India. "In India, it won't take very long for the excitement to build because the trailer for 'Ramayana' is already hugely awaited. Everyone is waiting for it. But this sets the film for a global appeal, creating demand for the same worldwide."
According to Adarsh, unveiling the trailer before a major Hollywood tentpole offers "Ramayana" an opportunity to reach audiences in the most immersive setting possible.
"The trailer runs for about four minutes and twenty seconds. Watching it on the big screen before a major Hollywood release like 'Spider-Man' is a huge advantage," he said. "With the 'Avengers: Doomsday' trailer also playing alongside, it only attracts more attention and many more eyeballs. It multiplies the hype, maybe tenfold."
The trailer attachment comes as "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" gears up for a strong opening in India, with advance bookings indicating robust demand, particularly across premium formats.
For "Ramayana," the partnership also reflects Sony Pictures' role as the film's international distributor, allowing the studio to leverage one of its biggest global releases to introduce the latest footage from the epic to audiences in theaters.
As studios increasingly use tentpole releases to debut exclusive marketing assets, the attachment positions "Ramayana" in front of thousands of moviegoers before one of the year's biggest theatrical events, further building momentum ahead of its release.
