Singer Dhvani Bhanushali has welcomed the growing global recognition of Indian music, citing the “Dhurandhar” duology as an example of how Indian music can reach audiences beyond the country. The singer believes the Grammy awards offer a significant platform for Indian artistes to gain international representation.

For those unaware, the album of “Dhurandhar: The Revenge,” composed by Shashwat Sachdev, has been submitted for consideration in nine categories at the 2027 Grammy Awards. The songs submitted and their respective categories include Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media, “Phir Se” in Best Song Written for Visual Media, "Jaan Se Guzarte Hain" and "Kanhaiyya" in Best Global Music Performance, "Aari Aari" in Best Asian Pop Music Performance, "Jaiye Sajana" in Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, "Destiny - Mann Atkeya" in Best Rap Performance, "Vaari Jaayan" in Best Dance/Electronic Recording and "Hum Pyaar Karne Wale" in Best Remixed Recording. Dhvani shares her thoughts on T-Series and B62 Studios' decision of submitting the album, mentioning, “I feel like the Grammys are a great platform. It just takes our music to the world and I'm really happy that we have submitted songs. Its doors have finally opened up for us."

The singer also points to the success of “Dhurandhar 2” and the presence of a large Indian diaspora worldwide, noting that the opportunity could help Indian music find a place on the global stage. ““Dhurandar: The Revenge” is such a massive hit in the country. Indians who are here and outside the country can finally believe that we have gotten popular representation. It's really something that Hindi film music artistes have looked forward to for all these years. That moment is finally here.”

Bhanushali believes the opportunity extends beyond one film or artiste and could encourage more musicians to seek international recognition. She quips, “Some people are already doing it. Like I said, it just opens doors for everyone. You can apply and we all eventually will get a seat at the table.” When asked if she had considered submitting her own songs for the Grammys, the singer responded, “Yeah, but I missed the deadline."

The Grammy Awards have long served as a platform for music from across the world, and greater participation from Indian artistes could bring more attention to the country's diverse musical landscape. This article explains the voting process and “Dhurandhar: The Revenge”’s chances of being one of the final nominees in the mentioned categories.
