Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Naagzilla’ Moves to Valentine’s Week 2027, Avoids Clash With ‘Lahore 1947’

“Naagzilla,” starring Kartik Aaryan, has been rescheduled from its originally announced release date (Aug. 14, 2026) and will now release in theaters on February 12, 2027. The shift effectively moves the film away from a potential box office clash with “Lahore 1947,” which is slated to hit screens on August 13, 2026.

The earlier timeline placed both films in close proximity, raising the possibility of screen overlap at the box office. With the new date, Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, “Naagzilla” now secures a cleaner window during the Valentine's weekend.

“Lahore 1947,” meanwhile, is one of the more high-profile releases lined up for 2026. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and backed by Aamir Khan, the film stars Sunny Deol in the lead, alongside Preity Zinta. Set against the backdrop of Partition, the film marks Santoshi’s return to the big screen and is positioned as a big-budget period drama.

The revised release for “Naagzilla” also suggests an extended production and post-production timeline, although the makers have not specified the exact reason behind the change. Given the film’s genre and expected reliance on visual effects, additional time required, could be a factor.

“Naagzilla” has been in development for a while. Plot details remain under wraps, but the film is expected to lean into a stylised narrative and large-scale presentation.

Release date reshuffles have become increasingly common across the Hindi film industry, often driven by a combination of scheduling conflicts and strategic positioning. At this stage, it remains unclear what competition “Naagzilla” will face in its new February 2027 slot, as the release calendar continues to evolve.

With the new date locked, attention will now shift to how the film progresses and when more details around its cast and storyline are unveiled.
