While celebrity hosts and contestants are the mainstay of a successful reality TV series in India, there is no denying that the sets grab viewers’ notice as well. Hindi film star Anil Kapoor who has had one of the most enduring careers in the industry is hosting the reality quiz show, “India Ke Top%” that tests the lateral thinking of contestants.

Makers have unveiled some pictures from the sets of the show, which retain the vibe of the international format but have a desi feel to it. Given that live events are the ‘in-thing’ right now, the producers have built a set in the shape of an arena. The “Bigg Boss 20” promo featured a Roman arena, while this one is like a massive amphitheater.

Anil Kapoor will host the show from a massive set that will house 100 contestants from different walks of life. “India Ke Top1%” has contestants who are students, homemakers, shopkeepers, YouTubers, magicians and realty agents. They are from the length and breadth of the nation bringing together a mix of personalities, stories and professions.

Speaking about designing the set of  Star Plus' India Ke Top 1%, Varsha Jain shares, “Creating the set of India Ke Top 1% has been an incredibly exciting and creatively satisfying experience. To give the show a premium, larger-than-life feel, we explored multiple options for almost two to three months before finalizing this space. It then took us another month, along with the hard work of hundreds of people, to build the entire arena."

She further says, "Every element has been carefully designed and handcrafted down to the finest detail. We wanted the set to feel glossy and futuristic, but also warm, fun and inviting. For me, the individual status lighting, which changes with each contestant’s journey, and the circular LED floor, which brings the gameplay and percentage levels alive, are the biggest highlights. Despite the scale and technology, the set never feels intimidating, and that balance is what makes it truly special.” The show will come on Star Plus from September 19.
