Indian audiences are in an exploratory mode, and that has presented a perfect opportunity for studios and creators to tap into the reality show space. Foreign shows are getting desi adaptations, along with creatives developing new concepts rooted in India. Here is a lowdown on the Indian reality TV shows coming up in the next two months:

‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ Season 18
On Air Date: August 10
Amitabh Bachchan is back with the iconic quiz show that celebrates learning. Aamir Khan and Sunny Deol are the first guests on the premiere episode. Big B is back to hosting after a longish break and fans are eager to see him. The show airs on Sony TV and streams on Sony LIV.

‘Traitors’ Season Two
On Air Date: August 13
After “Alliance,” viewers will get to watch “Traitors” Season Two from August 13 on the same streaming platform. Karan Johar is back as the host with a new set of contestants from Jaisalmer’s Suryagarh Palace. Mallika Sherawat, Rhea Chakraborty, Shalini Passi, Rida Tharana, Munawar Faruqui, Krystle D’Souza and Shweta Tiwari are some of the famous names of the season.

‘Indian Game Show with Bharti and Harssh’
On Air Date:
August 24
After the mega success of “Laughter Chefs,” the husband-wife duo of comedian-producer Bharti Singh and Harssh Limbachiyaa are back with this celebrity comedy-reality show. Several top TV stars are expected to be in the lineup, participating in fun tasks, quizzes and skits. Some of the names include Anita Hassanandani, Jannat Zubair, Karan Patel, Deepika Singh and Chandan Prabhakar.

‘India Ke Top 1%’
On Air Date:
September 5
Anil Kapoor will be hosting “India Ke Top 1%”, a new reality TV show, which is coming to India for the first time. It has been a hit in nations like the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Greece, Australia, Israel, Turkey, Ukraine, Mexico, and the USA. The reality TV show has quizzes that reward lateral thinking of the contestants.

‘Bigg Boss 20’
On Air Date:
September 6
The “Bigg Boss” mania will grip the country in multiple languages from September 6. It is a pan-India telecast for the show. Hosts Salman Khan, Nagarjuna, Riteish Deshmukh, Vijay Sethupathi, Mohanlal and Sourav Ganguly will deal with contestants from the world of films, TV and digital content creation. This is the biggest season ever of the reality show in terms of scale.

‘Pitch To Get Rich’ Season 2
On Air Date: TBA
The auditions are currently on. The show is expected to air from the end of September or early October. This time the investment pool is ₹100 crore, which is 150% more than the earlier season. Akshay Kumar will be an investor and mentor. Malaika Arora and Ashneer Grover will also be a part of the show.

Ongoing Reality Shows

‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 15’
After a year, Rohit Shetty is back with the high-octane reality show, “Khatron Ke Khiladi 15,” which has been filmed in South Africa. The contestants include new entrants such as Gaurav Khanna, Avinash Mishra, Orry (Orhan Awatramani), Farrhana Bhatt, Shagun Sharma, and Harsh Gujral, along with previous years’ names such as Rithvik Dhanjani, Karan Wahi, Rubina Dilaik, Jasmin Bhasin, Avika Gor, and Vishal Aditya Singh.

‘Bhojpuri Bawaal’
A unique reality show, ‘Bhojpuri Bawaal’ features names like Pawan Singh, Nirahua (Dinesh Lal Yadav), Kajal Raghwani, and other biggies from the industry. It gives fans a glimpse of them as people and decodes the interpersonal equations between them.
