‘Jumanji: Open World’ Trailer Review: Dwayne Johnson And Kevin Hart Return For One Last Adventure
The wait is finally over for fans of the blockbuster franchise, as the makers have officially dropped the first action-packed trailer for ‘Jumanji: Open World'. This exciting new preview completely flips the script on the hit series. Rather than sucking teenagers into a digital jungle, the video game escapes its console and leaks directly into our everyday life. Stuck in an unpredictable demo mode, the heroic avatars materialize on human turf, forcing the original high school squad to face their virtual alter egos head-on.
Adding a hilarious new twist, the avatars are no longer controlled by their usual teenage players. Instead, unsuspecting real-world bystanders end up pulling the strings. This unexpected flip leaves the game's famous heroes wandering the streets like glitchy, robotic characters who cannot fully control their own actions.

The trailer kicks off on a cozy note with Spencer and his friends reuniting at Nora’s diner. Things quickly turn upside down when Spencer's grandfather (Danny DeVito) spots a familiar bald head gleaming outside. Dr. Smolder Bravestone (Dwayne Johnson) suddenly steps into the real world alongside Professor Shelly Oberon (Jack Black), Ruby Roundhouse (Karen Gillan) and Franklin "Mouse" Finbar (Kevin Hart).
Set to the iconic beats of "The Final Countdown," the preview gives fans a taste of pure mayhem as Bravestone randomly bursts into fluent Spanish while his team navigates quirky, awkward real-world physics. At the same time, massive herds of ostriches, oxen, rhinos and giant reptiles tear through city streets. Returning franchise favorites including Danny DeVito, Awkwafina, Nick Jonas, Marin Hinkle, Bebe Neuwirth, Lamorne Morris and Rhys Darby join the fray, alongside new additions Dan Hildebrand and Jack Jewkes.
Director Jake Kasdan returns to helm this epic chapter, co-writing the script with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. The upcoming movie serves as a direct sequel to 2017's “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” and 2019's “Jumanji: The Next Level”, which together grossed well over $1.7 billion globally.
This modern reboot series originally honored Robin Williams' classic 1995 film and Chris Van Allsburg's 1981 picture book. Now, with the stakes higher than ever and the boundaries completely destroyed, the beloved crew faces their final, most unpredictable mission yet.
