The final trailer before the release of “Dune: Part Three” has arrived. And in case non-book fans weren’t clear on what story Denis Villeneuve has been trying to tell, the new “Dune 3” trailer spells it out explicitly, in Paul Atreides’s own words. With new scenes featuring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem and Robert Pattinson, the trailer confirms the 19-year time jump and the fact that the messianic figure played by Chalamet is officially in his oppressor era.

The trailer begins with Chalamet’s Padishah Emperor Paul Atreides flexing his Bene Gesserit training by using “The Voice” on Florence Pugh’s Princess Irulan to try to find out about the assassination plot involving Zendaya’s Chani. It’s an eerie scene, with the "Desert Chant" vocalised by Timothée Chalamet playing in the background, that clearly arrives much later in the film, considering Paul’s shaven head, and suggests Chani might have something to do with it,
In a voiceover, the Reverend Mother Gaius Helena Mohiam (Charlotte Rampling) describes how, for the past 19 years, "Muad’Dib has conquered a thousand worlds," even as Robert Pattinson’s chillingly voiced Bene Tleilaxu facedancer Scytale spearheads the conspiracy to end Paul’s threat: “We found a way to neutralize the Emperor, and end this madness.”
“Dune: Messiah” fans know Scytale is talking about former House Atreides swordmaster Duncan Idaho, who is brought back as a ghola (clone) and named Hayt. He will be the biggest wildcard alongside Chani, considering Villeneuve has gone rogue with her character in a bid to make it plain for the audience to understand that Paul Atreides has gradually morphed into the very oppressor he wanted to liberate the Fremen from. In fact, we get a scene of Atreides admitting to it too: “After years of combat, I’ve become the oppressor Chani had sworn to fight. I’m the enemy.”

The new trailer also features more scenes with Anya Taylor-Joy's Alia Atreides testing Momoa's Hayt's loyalty while covered in blood, Paul asking Hayt to look after his family, as well as the Fremen led by Javier Bardem's Stilgar, ready to fight Paul's holy war. But the biggest surprise remains the scene that features a blink-and-you-miss glimpse of Paul and Chani's grown-up children, Leto II, played by Jason Momoa's son Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, and Ghanima, played by Ida Brooke. It's a secret for the book fans to know and for the film fans to find out.
With the usual fare of dunes, sandworms, ornithopters, the rousing score by Hans Zimmer and visually stunning scenes (like the one from "Dune: Part Two" where the soldiers descended from the sky into the Arrakeen desert) amplified for this finale by cinematographer Linus Sandgren (taking over from Greig Fraser, who did the last two films) to Denis Villeneuve's ambitious sci-fi epic trilogy, "Dune: Part Three," amps up scale, spectacle and stakes for a different kind of doomsday. "Dune: Part Three" releases in India on December 18, 2026.
