“Dune: Part Three” has sold 33,000 advance tickets in one day at the BFI Imax, which is the UK’s largest screen. With this, the Denis Villeneuve film smashes the record previously held by Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” set earlier this year in July.

The ticket sales record was achieved in 24 hours, breaking first-day presale records for the screen and achieving a total gross of more than £880,000 ($988,000). BFI was previously sold out for months for “The Odyssey,” with a similar fate expected for the final “Dune” film. The screen allows the audience to watch the film in its intended 70mm wide, high-resolution film gauge. Preview screenings for “Dune: Part Three” will begin in Imax 70mm on December 15.

The top five presale tickets list is now as follows:

1. Dune: Part Three (Denis Villeneuve, 2026) – £880,000
2. The Odyssey (Christopher Nolan, 2026) – £750,000
3. Dune: Part Two (Denis Villeneuve, 2024) – £366,000
4. Oppenheimer (Christopher Nolan, 2023) – £254,000
5. Avatar: Fire and Ash (James Cameron, 2025) – £116,000

“Dune: Part Three” starts two decades after the end of “Dune: Part Two,” with Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) taking charge of the Imperium as the new Padishah Emperor, the head of House Atreides. As the threat of his foes planning a coup against him grows stronger, he gets paranoid. Chani’s (Zendaya) reappearances threaten his footing as he gets pulled in both directions.

Apart from Chalamet and Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Florence Pugh, Jason Momoa, Anya Taylor-Joy, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin are a part of the film.
