Box Office: ‘Bhooth Bangla’ Sustains Strong Run, ‘Michael’ Records Biggest Hollywood Opening Week in India in 2026
Good days are here to stay as new movie releases continue to sustain audiences' interest in theatres. As “Dhurandhar: The Revenge” slows down following its record-breaking theatrical run, “Bhooth Bangla” has emerged as the new frontrunner, while last week's “Michael” is also in route for a successful box office run.
Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan's horror-comedy has added 42.35 crore net in its second week, underscoring the acceptance from audiences. The film has maintained a strong hold, remaining the first choice for moviegoers in its second week as well. The total two-week collection of “Bhooth Bangla” now stands at ₹122.35 crore net in India and nearly ₹200 crore gross worldwide. Akshay's collaboration with Priyadarshan has resulted in a much-needed commercial hit for the actor who had been experiencing a challenging phase at the box office. The film is now eyeing ₹145-150 crore in lifetime collections.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar's “Dhurandhar 2” has been running in theatres for 43 days and is still attracting audiences. Despite limited screens, the spy action thriller added another ₹11.60 crore in its 6th week, taking its total box office collection to ₹1091.20 crore net in India and ₹1715 crore gross worldwide. The film is now gearing up to celebrate 50 days in theatres next week, becoming the only Hindi film franchise to achieve such longevity for both its installments.
