After a long wait, Ranbir Kapoor and Yash’s “Ramayana” has arrived in theatres and, as expected, has registered exceptional occupancy in morning shows across the country. The original Hindi version has recorded impressive numbers in the northern markets, followed by a great response to the film in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The film has also registered decent numbers in Tamil Nadu, despite local audiences showing interest in Suriya’s “Scene” and Nayanthara's “Mookuthi Annam 2.”

The film has registered around 55% occupancy across the country, which is phenomenal as it has managed to penetrate South India, despite releasing on a regular day at the box office.

The film has already collected ₹17.10 crore through its morning shows, with the Hindi version contributing ₹12.55 crore, accounting for 73% of the total. The Kannada-dubbed version has contributed ₹2.18 crore, while the Telugu version has added ₹1.53 crore.

Interestingly, the film has generated ₹22.67 crore for Friday (November 6), ₹25.02 crore for Saturday (November 7), ₹16.41 crore for Sunday (November 8) and ₹13.49 crore for Monday (November 9) in the presales.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, best known for “Dangal” and “Chhichhore,” “Ramayana” will be released in two parts. The second one is scheduled to release in Diwali 2028. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Yash as Ravana, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman.

Bankrolled by Namit Malhotra, CEO of DNEG and Founder of Prime Focus, the film also stars Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, Arun Govil as King Dashrath, Indira Krishnan as Queen Kaushalya, Sheeba Chadha as Manthara, Addinath M Kothare as Bharat and Kunal Kapoor as Lord Indra, among others.

The music of the film is composed by Academy Award winners AR Rahman and Han Zimmer, with editing by Huzefa Lokhandwala and William Hoy.
