“Ramayana: Part 1” is just days away from its global box-office release. Ahead of its arrival in cinemas, it is poised to set a new US premiere sales record for an Indian film.
Until now, the film has sold over 51,000 tickets for its US paid previews, surpassing Prabhas and Anushka Shetty’s “Baahubali 2” (40,000 tickets plus) and Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan’s “Kalki 2898 AD” (41,000 tickets plus) and currently holds the second spot after “Dhurandhar: The Revenge” (52,000 plus) on the list of Biggest US Premiere Sales for an Indian film.
With two more days for its release, “Ramayana” has a strong chance to surpass the Ranveer Singh-starrer. However, it would be interesting to see if it crosses the extended opening weekend numbers of the spy-actioner, which is $14M (5 days including previews) in North America.
