Latest
Two prominent Tamil releases, Suriya starrer “Scene” and Nayanthara’s “Mookuthi Amman 2”, hit the screens amid buzz and excitement among cinegoers. With the promotional assets of both films clicking with fans, the two films opened on a high note in Tamil Nadu, especially “Scene,” leading by a huge margin.
After a phenomenal presale response, Suriya’s film has taken an excellent start in morning shows, registering an average occupancy of around 60%. The film has already collected over ₹7 crore and is currently targeting the ₹20 crore mark. However, it would be interesting to see whether it goes past “Kanguva” (₹24 crore) to become the actor’s biggest opener.
Suriya has already enjoyed a great 2026 by delivering consecutive hits with “Karuppu” and “Vishwanath & Sons.” Meanwhile, Nayanthara’s “Mookuthi Amman 2” had a fair start with around 25% and has collected just under a crore in the morning shows. While both films will rely on word of mouth, the latter will have more impact, as the first part was an OTT release.
