Akshay Kumar’s Production House Issues Legal Warning, Claims Exclusive Worldwide Rights to ‘Hera Pheri 3’
Amid a lot of chatter surrounding the release of "Hera Pheri 3," Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films has exercised its authority over the project. In an update released on July 7, 2026, the production and distribution company has deterred any third parties from trying to stake a claim or conduct conversations surrounding the film.

In the public notice, addressed to the Indian film industry, especially aimed at all “distributors, exhibitors, cinema chains, OTT and streaming platforms, television broadcasters, digital platforms, advertisers, licensors, licensees, aggregators and syndicators,” the Mumbai-based company has asserted its ownership of the film. It has affirmed being the “sole and exclusive holder of an irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual, and unencumbered licence to produce, distribute, market, exploit and commercialise,” limiting any third parties from holding trade conversations concerning the film.

While it is not known what exactly it was that encouraged the company to issue the notice, they have affirmed that while holding the rights themselves, any other entities claiming to be authorized in relation to the film may do so at their own risk, warning of possible legal actions due to violations.
"Hera Pheri 3" remains a widely discussed project in the pipeline for Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal. Director Priyadarshan’s exit from the popular comedy franchise was confirmed by producer Firoz A Nadiadwallah in an exclusive chat with Variety India earlier last month. Further details on the film’s production, including possible filming updates, remain unknown as of now.
