Akshay Kumar-Saif Ali Khan’s ‘Haiwaan’ Locks September 11 Release Date, Reunites Popular Screen Duo After 18 Years
Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are officially heading back to the big screen together. The makers of "Haiwaan" have announced that the Priyadarshan-directed thriller will release in cinemas worldwide on September 11, 2026, setting the stage for one of Bollywood's most anticipated star reunions of the year.
Produced by KVN Productions and Thespian Films, "Haiwaan" brings Kumar and Khan together in leading roles for the first time since "Tashan" (2008). Before that, the duo shared the screen in films including "Main Khiladi Tu Anari" (1994) and "Yeh Dillagi" (1994), becoming one of Hindi cinema's most popular onscreen pairings during the 1990s and early 2000s.
The film is directed by Priyadarshan, marking another collaboration between the filmmaker and Kumar after a creative partnership that has delivered some of Hindi cinema's most celebrated entertainers, including "Hera Pheri," "Garam Masala," "Bhool Bhulaiyaa," "Bhagam Bhag" and the upcoming "Bhooth Bangla." While Priyadarshan is best known for his comedies, his filmography also includes acclaimed thrillers and dramas, making "Haiwaan" a notable return to the suspense genre.

Although the makers are yet to reveal the film's plot, they have described it as a thriller. Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher round out the principal cast in pivotal roles.
The announcement comes as both leading actors continue to expand their theatrical slates. Kumar has several major releases lined up across comedy, horror and action genres, while Khan returns to a full-fledged theatrical role in a film that pairs him once again with one of his longest-standing contemporaries.

The combination of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan's proven screen chemistry, Priyadarshan's storytelling pedigree and a suspense-driven narrative positions the film among the notable Hindi releases on the 2026 calendar.
