Venkatesh Daggubati and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram are uniting for their first-ever collaboration film. Tentatively titled VenkyAnil5 (also being called NKRAR2), it will mark the former’s reunion with director Anil Ravipudi. Confirming earlier speculations, the project has confirmed a grand release on January 12, 2027. Previously, Venkatesh was introduced as Lt. Colonel Venkat Reddy in the first look of the film earlier this month.

The Sankranthi release puts it in line for a big clash with Chiranjeevi's next film, currently known as Mega158. While the Bobby Kolli directorial is yet to confirm its release plans, there have been rumors of it aiming for a big Sankranthi 2027 release as well. Sankranthi 2027 (January 2027). An official announcement confirming the exact date alongside its title teaser is expected on August 22, on the occasion of Chiranjeevi’s 71st birthday.
On the other hand, Venkatesh and Kalyan Ram will be starring alongside Keerthy Suresh and Krithi Shetty in the lead roles. Previously believed to be a remake of the Malayalam comedy-drama “Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil,” as confirmed by Suresh. It will be made under the banners of Shine Screens, Suresh Productions, and Zee Studios, with G.V. Prakash Kumar joining as the music producer.

Sankranthi 2027 appears to be a big moment in the South Indian cinema space as the awaited reunion of Akkineni Nagarjuna and Tabu in King100 after 28-years, which will mark the 100th film of the Telugu star is also believed to be planning a festive release.
Venkatesh and Ravipudi have previously worked together on “F2: Fun and Frustration,” “F3: Fun and Frustration,” “Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu” and “Sankranthiki Vasthunnam,” while the director has also worked with Kalyan Ram on his debut film “Pataas”.
