Rasha Thadani Paired Opposite Vir Hirani In His Theatrical Debut Film (EXCLUSIVE)
Rajkumar Hirani's son Vir Hirani has found the leading lady for his theatrical debut film. Variety India has exclusively learned that Raveena Tandon's daughter Rasha Thadani has been locked opposite him in Jay Shewakramani's next production, tentatively titled "Lagan Laagi Re."
The film is believed to be a fresh, young love story to be directed by Sonali Rattan Deshmukh, who has previously assisted husband Kunal Deshmukh on popular romantic musicals like "Jannat," “Tum Mile," and "Shiddat." The makers were looking to introduce a fresh on-screen pairing and believe Vir and Rasha make a compelling romantic duo. The film goes on floors in July 2026.
"Lagan Laagi Re" is a small-town love story set in contemporary times. The screenplay has been written by Karan Vyas, whose popular works include “Scam 1992," “Scam 2003," “Scoop,” and “Raid 2." Jay Shewakramani produces it under his Northern Lights Films banner, which has previously bankrolled films like “Jawaani Jaaneman," "Malang," "Freddy," “Jaane Jaan," "Maalik," and “Inspector Zende."
