The sequel to the successful folklore-horror “Tumbbad” is currently in production. While the second part is expected to be bigger and grander, with the addition of Alia Bhatt and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the cinematographer of the first part, Pankaj Kumar, is not returning for the sequel.

The well-known cinematographer, who is also associated with Ranbir Kapoor and Yash-starrer “Ramayana,” reveals that he is not shooting “Tumbbad 2” since he and producer-actor Sohum Shah had a fallout. "I was busy with the shooting of ‘Ramayana,’ but also, after ‘Tumbbad,’ Sohum and I had not parted on good terms. After finishing the film, we didn't speak to each other for a long time. So, there was never any question of me being a part of ‘Tumbbad.’ I don't think any of the original creators of ‘Tumbbad” are in the sequel.” The technician speaks positively about the sequels and adds, “I hope the film turns out very well and does very well.”

Pankaj is known for filming projects like “Ship of Theseus,” “Talvar,” “Haider,” “Rangoon,” “Raat Akeli Hai,” “Atrangi Re,” “Khauf,” “Guns and Gulaabs” and “Farzi,” with his upcoming biggie including both parts of “Ramayana.”

“Tumbbad 2” is directed by Adesh Prasad, the writer of the first part. Produced by Sohum Shah Films and Dr. Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Studios, it will hit the screens on December 3, 2027.
