‘Ramayana’ Trailer to Premiere Worldwide on July 24, Makers Position Epic as a Global Cinematic Event

The makers of Nitesh Tiwari's "Ramayana" have announced that the film's official trailer will premiere worldwide on July 24, marking the next major milestone in the rollout of one of Indian cinema's most ambitious productions. The announcement comes after weeks of anticipation surrounding the film's marketing campaign and positions the trailer launch as a global cinematic event.

The announcement also follows Variety India's exclusive report that the trailer would debut at a large-scale event at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on July 18. While the footage will first be screened for invited dignitaries and special guests at the capital event, the makers have now confirmed that the trailer will receive its worldwide digital premiere on July 24, marking the beginning of the film's global campaign.

Shared across the film's official social media platforms, the announcement carries the message, "From Bharat to the World," describing "Ramayana" as a story that has inspired generations through its timeless ideals of dharma, maryada, courage and compassion. It adds that the epic is now beginning "a new journey," presenting one of Bharat's greatest civilizational epics to audiences around the world "at a scale never attempted before in Indian cinema."

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, "Ramayana" has been envisioned as a two-part adaptation of the ancient Indian epic with a strong emphasis on large-scale visual storytelling. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, alongside Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, Rakul Preet Singh and Kunal Kapoor in pivotal roles.

The July 18 event is expected to be attended by Tiwari, Malhotra, Kapoor, Pallavi, Dubey, Rakul Preet Singh and Kunal Kapoor. Whether Yash, Sunny Deol and the remaining cast members will join the celebrations is yet to be confirmed.

The project has also assembled an international creative team, with A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer collaborating on the score. Since its announcement, the filmmakers have consistently positioned "Ramayana" as an Indian story crafted for a global audience, with visual effects and production values designed to match the scale of the epic itself.

The worldwide trailer premiere on July 24 is expected to offer audiences their most comprehensive look yet at the film's visual ambition, characters and world-building. With its latest campaign emphasizing both India's cultural legacy and its international aspirations, "Ramayana" is positioning itself as one of the most significant global film events to emerge from Indian cinema in recent years.
