Yash Responds to ‘Ramayana’ VFX Criticism, Says It Is Work in Progress, Final Product Will Be Top-Notch

On April 2, the first look of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama was shared online. While it largely garnered a thumbs-up from those who saw it, there were some who panned it for its poor VFX.

Now, Yash, who plays Ravana in the magnum opus ‘Ramayana,’ has responded to the criticism, describing it as a “work-in-progress."

After launching the glimpse in Los Angeles, followed by New York, producers Namit Malhotra and Yash recently graced CinemaCon in Las Vegas. At the event, they spoke about their ambitious project.

Talking about the VFX work, the “KGF” actor said, “It’s DNEG (the VFX company) on board. So, the photo – realistic, the visuals that you are talking about – it’s still a work in progress. I am sure it will be even better when we see the finished product. We are really making a top-notch product."

The actor also spoke about the release date of the film while talking to Michael Sandoval, and said, “Ramayana, we are planning this year. This year, Diwali was in October last week."

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film also features Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lord Rama's brother Lakshmana and Sunny Deol as Hanuman.
