Aayush Sharma Joins Tamannaah Bhatia In Ektaa Kapoor’s ‘Ragini 3’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Tamannaah Bhatia’s “Ragini 3” has another major cast addition. Variety India has exclusively learned that producer Ektaa Kapoor has now roped in Salman Khan’s brother-in-law, Aayush Sharma, for a pivotal role in the upcoming supernatural thriller.

Aayush will star opposite Tamannaah in this film, set to be directed by “Khoobsurat” and “Veerey Di Wedding” fame Shashanka Ghosh. Aayush’s addition completes the lead casting of the film, which also features Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan and Nargis Fakhri in pivotal roles. Tamannaah will apparently share romantic arcs with both Aayush and Junaid, while Nargis is set to play a police officer.

“Ragini 3” is being described as a high-concept supernatural thriller, designed as a gripping “date night horror” that blends thrills, humour and suspense. The film marks the rebranding of the “Ragini MMS” franchise, widely known for its erotic elements. The latest film in the series will move away from its horror-erotic roots, leaning more towards the supernatural scares. The film is currently in pre-production and will commence shooting in July 2026.

The shooting of the third “Ragini” film was initially supposed to begin in January but was postponed after its original director, Sahir Raza, left it due to a scheduling clash stemming from his commitments to a Netflix series. Shashanka Ghosh later came on board, effectively reviving the project. The film is now smoothly moving ahead, targeting a theatrical release later this year.

Aayush Sharma made his acting debut with the romantic drama “LoveYatri” (2018) and followed it up with the actioner “Antim: The Final Truth,” which also starred Salman Khan in an extended cameo role. The actor was last seen in the stylish action thriller, “Ruslaan,” in 2024.

Meanwhile, Tamannaah has two films slated for release this year. She will next feature opposite Sidharth Malhotra in Balaji Motion Pictures’ “Vvan — Force of the Forest” on August 28, followed by Ajay Devgn’s action adventure "Ranger," scheduled to release in cinemas on December 4, 2026.
