Ram Charan’s ‘Peddi’ Trailer Launch Confirmed for May 16 in Bhopal; A.R. Rahman Expected to Perform Live (EXCLUSIVE)

The trailer launch of the upcoming Telugu film “Peddi" will take place on May 16, 2026, at a grand event in Bhopal, Variety India has exclusively learned. Lead actors Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, director Buchi Babu Sana, producer Venkata Satish Kilaru and filmmaker Sukumar are expected to attend the event.

It is also learned that Oscar-winning composer A. R. Rahman will perform live as part of the celebrations. The trailer launch is being planned on an expansive scale, with preparations already underway in Bhopal. The event is expected to draw significant fan turnout and online traction, particularly given the growing anticipation surrounding the project in Telugu cinema markets.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, best known for “Uppena”, “Peddi” marks the filmmaker’s first collaboration with Ram Charan following the actor’s global visibility after “RRR.” The film has already generated conversation online for Ram Charan’s rugged transformation and rooted rural aesthetic, which sharply departs from his recent polished commercial outings. The project also stars Shiva Rajkumar in a key role and features music by Rahman.

Advance bookings for the film in the United States have opened to a strong early response, particularly across overseas Telugu markets, where Ram Charan continues to command a substantial audience base.

Filmmaker Sukumar recently visited the sets of “Peddi" and is understood to have appreciated footage and promotional material from the film. Industry chatter around the project has steadily intensified in recent weeks, with the film’s visuals and early content receiving positive response.

The film, presented by Mythri Movie Makers and produced by Vriddhi Cinemas, is set to hit the big screen on June 4, 2026.
