Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji are reuniting on screen after 20 years with the release of the upcoming action film, Siddharth Anand directed “King.” The actor indulged in his fans’ questions about the movie today, where he re-confirmed the release date of his upcoming film as December 24.
During an Ask Me Anything session today, Khan answered a question about reuniting with Deepika Padukone and Rani Mukerji. He replied, “The best ever. It's lovely always to work with my best friends.” While he worked with Deepika in the 2023 film “Jawan,” his last collaboration with Rani Mukerji dates back to 2006, when the two of them starred in Karan Johar’s “Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna."

Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji have shared one of Hindi cinema’s most memorable on-screen collaborations, with their films together spanning romance, drama and family entertainers. The duo first appeared together in “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” (1998), where their chemistry became a defining part of the film’s love triangle. They later reunited in “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…” (2001) where Rani had a cameo as SRK’s close friend, “Chalte Chalte” (2003), “Paheli” (2005), “Veer-Zaara” (2004) and “Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna” (2006). Their collaborations have remained particularly popular with audiences, whether playing romantic leads or sharing the screen in more layered relationships.
While there were reports and speculations on social media about Mukerji’s association with “King,” Khan’s reply to the fan’s question confirms it. The two were last seen at the 71st National Film Awards, where Khan won an honor in the “Best Actor” for his performance in the action blockbuster “Jawan.” Mukerji took home the “Best Actress” award for her role in “Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway."
