FWICE Lifts Non-Cooperation Directive Against Ranveer Singh Following IMPPA Intervention
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has withdrawn its non-cooperation directive against actor Ranveer Singh, bringing an end to a dispute that had drawn attention across the Hindi film industry.
In a statement, FWICE said the decision followed discussions within the organization and intervention from the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA), which advocated for a resolution in the interest of industry unity.
The development comes amid an ongoing dispute linked to Singh's exit from Farhan Akhtar's upcoming "Don 3." Earlier this year, Excel Entertainment is understood to have approached industry bodies regarding the actor's departure from the project after substantial pre-production work had already been undertaken. The matter subsequently escalated within industry circles, eventually leading to FWICE issuing a non-cooperation directive against the actor.
“We hereby announce the withdrawal of the Non-Cooperation Directive (NCD) issued against Mr. Ranveer Singh with immediate effect,” the organization said.

According to FWICE, the move was made after “careful thought, introspection, and constructive discussions,” with the body citing the “collective sentiments and larger welfare of the film fraternity” as key factors behind the decision.
“The entertainment industry has always thrived on mutual respect, collaboration, and solidarity amongst its stakeholders, and it is important that all efforts ultimately contribute towards maintaining these core values,” the organization said.
The federation also acknowledged IMPPA's role in resolving the matter, crediting the producers' body and its president, Abhay Sinha, for their efforts in facilitating discussions between stakeholders.
“We would especially like to acknowledge and place on record our sincere gratitude to the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA) for its timely intervention, valuable guidance, and earnest efforts in resolving this matter,” FWICE said.
The organization added that while it remains committed to protecting the interests and dignity of its members, it believes disputes within the entertainment sector should be resolved through “dialogue, understanding, and collective responsibility” wherever possible.
FWICE further said it had received assurances from IMPPA that the concerns underlying the dispute would continue to be addressed with all concerned parties, with efforts directed toward achieving an “amicable, fair, and mutually beneficial resolution.”
The withdrawal takes effect immediately, clearing the way for normal professional engagement between Singh and members affiliated with FWICE.
The dispute had become one of the more closely watched industry flashpoints in recent months, particularly because of its connection to "Don 3," the latest installment in the long-running franchise that was announced with Singh stepping into the role previously played by Shah Rukh Khan.
Describing the move as one taken in “the spirit of goodwill, mutual respect, and consideration for the larger interests of the industry,” FWICE said it hopes the decision will strengthen cooperation and unity across the film fraternity moving forward.
