Faheem Abdullah, the singer songwriter behind “Ishq” and the “Saiyaara” title track, is taking his music on the road for the first time with a six city India tour, Variety India has learned. Titled “The Unbecoming Tour,” the run will see Abdullah perform in New Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Mumbai between November 20 and December 27, 2026. Produced and promoted by Team Innovation, the tour marks a new chapter for an artist whose rise has been driven largely by streaming and an increasingly devoted audience for his emotionally charged songwriting.
For Abdullah, the timing is significant. The Srinagar born artist has spent the past several years building a distinctive musical identity that moves between indie folk, contemporary rock and the poetic traditions of Urdu and Kashmiri songwriting.
He began releasing music independently before finding a wider audience with “Ishq,” featuring Rauhan Malik, which emerged as one of his biggest breakthroughs. His debut album “Lost;Found” further established his voice within India’s independent music space, with songs rooted in themes of love, longing, memory and home.

His profile has expanded considerably since. Abdullah featured on Coke Studio Bharat’s “Hoor” and subsequently crossed into film music with songs including “Chand Mera Dil.” More recently, “Saiyaara” introduced his music to an even wider mainstream audience, placing him at an interesting intersection between India’s independent and film music ecosystems.
Now, “The Unbecoming Tour” will attempt to translate that growing digital following into a national live experience. “This new chapter is about stripping away from the formal identity of being an artist and unlearning everything the industry expects of me,” Abdullah said in a statement. “I am pulling back the layers to share the most authentic, unfiltered side of my musical DNA. I want these shows to feel like a sanctuary, a place where we can silence the outer chaos and build something beautiful together.”

The title reflects that sentiment. Rather than leaning into large scale spectacle, the tour is being positioned around Abdullah’s songwriting and intimate connection with his audience. Mohit Bijlani, founder of Team Innovation, said the partnership comes at a time when India’s live music circuit is increasingly opening up space for independent artists with strong digital communities.
The tour opens in New Delhi on November 20, 2026, followed by Kolkata on November 22. Abdullah will then perform in Pune on December 4, Ahmedabad on December 6 and Hyderabad on December 18, before wrapping the run in Mumbai on December 27. Tickets will be available exclusively on thumpN, with general sales opening on September 5, 2026, at 2 p.m. IST.
