Ahan Shetty is all set to begin filming his next feature “Sanki” in Bhopal by the end of October, Variety India has learnt. Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, the film is an action love drama. Some of the film’s biggest stunt sequences will be filmed in the city.
The film marks Shetty’s next major screen outing following “Border 2”. He will be working with Desai, who has directed films including “Rustom”, starring Akshay Kumar and Ileana D’Cruz, and “Mission Raniganj”, headlined by Akshay Kumar. While the makers have kept the plot and further casting details under wraps, the planned Bhopal schedule is expected to mark the beginning of principal photography.
“Sanki” is just the beginning of the solid line-up of films that Ahan has in his kitty. After completing “Sanki”, the young actor moves on to Vikram Bhatt’s “1920 Cold Winter”, followed by two back-to-back films, the details of which will be revealed at a later stage.

A crew of over 200 people has already reached Bhopal, which includes the action team, stunt supervisors, choreographers, dancers – the scene is set for a mega “volatile” actioner, just as the film’s title suggests.
The title “Sanki” was previously associated with a separate project featuring Ahan Shetty and Pooja Hegde. But this new project is being made with a different directorial setup, and details of its story and supporting cast have not yet been officially disclosed. “This is a different script and is being made under a different banner. The only common factor is the film’s title and the leading man,” says a source connected with the film.
Tinu Desai’s filmography includes projects built around high-stakes dramatic situations, including “Rustom” and “Mission Raniganj”. With “Sanki”, he will now direct Shetty in a film whose narrative details remain closely guarded ahead of production.
The makers have not yet announced a release date or confirmed the complete cast. For now, the immediate focus is on the Bhopal schedule, with filming expected to begin on Oct. 30, 2026.
