After ‘Kill 2’, Sanya Malhotra-starrer ‘Pagglait’ Sequel Greenlit at Sikhya Entertainment (EXCLUSIVE)
Sikhya Entertainment and Netflix India have built a strong creative partnership over the years, collaborating on multiple acclaimed projects ranging from documentaries to feature films. Continuing this association, they are now teaming up for “Pagglait 2,” a sequel to their 2021 dark dramedy.
Variety India has learned that “Pagglait 2” is officially in the works, with Sanya Malhotra returning to reprise the lead role. Umesh Bist, who directed the original, returns to helm the sequel, taking the narrative forward with a fresh perspective. It's yet unclear whether the sequel will be a continuation of the first part or tell a different story within the same thematic space, but the sequel is expected to retain the distinctive blend of humour and emotional depth that defined the first part. Shooting is scheduled to begin around August-September 2026.
